My network printer won't print at all. -OR -
My network printer is spitting out pages and pages of junk.
What do I do?

Explanation: Most likely, a network communications error has occurred. Here are the steps to take to resolve the problem:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the network print server (there is no on/off button).

  3. There may still be print jobs waiting to be printed. It is best to delete those jobs before reconnecting everything. A quick way to determine whether there are jobs waiting to be printed is to look for a small printer icon on the taskbar, at the bottom of the screen, near the clock. If the icon is there, double click it. In the screen that opens up, click on the Printer menu item and choose Purge Print Documents.
  4. Once the print jobs are deleted, reconnect the print server.
  5. Turn the printer back on.
  6. Wait a moment to confirm that no more garbage is printing out.
  7. Try printing something.
