Re: Important School Registration Dates for the 2010-2011 School Term
The dates for registration for the next school term have been identified.
As parents and community members, you are well aware of the classroom
space problems we are encountering.
It is the intention of the school district to provide parents with
both school choice and neighborhood schools.
This is not always possible in practice as it is in theory.
We will be hosting a couple of registration dates.
The first of these dates will be Preferred Registration, i.e.
for incoming and returning students whose older brothers and sisters
attend the same school. (A student entering the junior high does not
entitle a parent to register a child for Graves Elementary unless
that child attended Graves Elementary for the 2001-2002 school term.)
It is not our intention to split up families.
It is imperative that you register at the Preferred Registration
time to make sure your child has a place in the same school.
After the first date,
Open Registration will be available.
All class lists will be limited. This will be on a first come
first served basis.
It is essential that you bring proof
of residency to the registration.
(Contact the central office or your school for acceptable
forms of proof of residency.)
It is also required that you bring a birth certificate
for your child if it is the first time they are
registering in our district.
It is expected that book fees are to be
paid at this time.

Proof of Residency includes:
(TWO documents needed)
(FOUR documents needed)
These requirements are not meant to be unduly harsh. These requirements are to protect your tax dollars. For each student whose parent falsifies residency that crime (and it is a crime) translates to over $8,000 of educational resources that your child doesn't get. Please report falsified residency to the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.
Persons who only provided the minimum requirements previously will be expected to have all of the required documents at this time.
