Problem Statement: A hydraulic excavator driver at the quarry found an unknown fossil. He needs our help as Junior Paleontologists to identify this fossil.
Learning Challenge: A section of the quarry was closed due to the finding of the unknown fossil. An excavation was then started for the possibility of discovering additional fossils. As Junior Paleontologists, our class was asked to help excavate and identify the fossil. What made the fossil?
