Using the engineering design process, Ms. Smith's 2nd grade STEAM classes at Graves designed devices to protect an egg if it is dropped from a certain height. There were quite a few successful designs and many eggs did not break!! Usando el proceso de diseño de ingeniería, las clases STEAM de segundo grado de la Sra. Join School District 104 on May 20th for the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Cook County School District 104 Administrative Building and the secure entrance additions for Wharton and Walker School. The ceremony will begin at 8:00 AM at the new Cook County School District 104 Administrative Building location, 7509 63rd St, Summit, IL 60501. The ceremony will then proceed to Wharton School, and end at Walker School. Light refreshments will be available at Walker School. Please see the attached invitation for details. Second graders at Graves Dual Language School took a field trip to the Kids Science Lab. This trip gave students an opportunity to experience and understand the science they see every day as they experimented with hands-on science activities. Los alumnos de segundo grado de la Escuela de Lenguaje Dual de Graves hicieron una excursión al Laboratorio de Ciencias para Niños. After a week of planning, writing a rough draft, revising, editing and publishing all about plants and their adaptations, 1st Graders in Mrs. Miranda's class at Graves Dual Language School got an opportunity to celebrate their final products through an "Authors Chair" celebration.
