The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship and helps middle-level students develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded student leaders in their school, community, and beyond.
At yesterday evening's ceremony, our HMS 8th graders received their cords for graduation and also passed the torch to the newly inducted NJHS members. We hope you take the characteristics you developed through NJHS and continue to be transformative leaders in your school, community, and beyond.

At last night's SD104 Board Meeting, the board recognized three students for having their artwork selected in Lions Club 100 Year Anniversary Artwork Design Contest.
Village Sticker Winners:
1st: F. Nevarez (HMS)
2nd: M. De La Torre (Graves)
3rd: E. Ramirez (Wharton)
The Lions Club International is the world's largest service club organization. Summit has had an active chapter since 1925, making this year the 100th anniversary of the club. Fifth and sixth grade students created artwork to be depicted on the village of Summit's vehicle sticker to celebrate this historic milestone.
Aspects of their artwork will make up the new vehicle sticker design for Summit, IL! Congratulations to these artists!
