The Graves and HMS PE teams (Gamino, Koerner, Klotz, Fritsche) joined forces and had the 7th and 8th graders mentor the Kindergarten and 1st graders. There was movement, engagement, smiles, and leadership displayed.

Ms. Hokkanen and the STEAM students created wind turbines intended to do more than just produce electricity.
Students in Mrs. Zipprich and Mrs. Foltz's science class are learning about the effects erosion has on the land while using a stream table simulation.
Students in Ms. Cardenas' class created skull designs after learning about them in a book and movie. Students applied what they learned and decorated them with colored glue to memorialize their work.
HMS varsity basketball played a close game against Unity that came down to the final shot. Nice playing Sailors. Keep up the great work!

Art for the Sky
Tomorrow begins our journey with an amazing artist in residence. Daniel Dancer will be working with Walker Elementary for the next 3 days creating artwork with all students and staff. This special kind of art can be appreciated in all its grandeur from the sky, but the real work is happening on the ground. All students and staff working together to create something bigger than ourselves. That is what we strive to do every day!
The big creation event should begin around 12:30 on Thursday if any parents, family, or community would like to come and watch it unfold.
