School Psychologist

Summit School District #104 employees two School Psychologists, one of which is Bilingual (Spanish) to meet the needs of our students. School psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents and other professionals to create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and the community for all students. School psychologists are highly trained in both psychology and education and complete a minimum of a specialist-level graduate degree program. They increase student achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning. Some of the services provided by school psychologist include, but are not limited to:

  • Data-based decision making and accountability

  • Crisis prevention and intervention

  • Psychoeducational evaluation

  • Identify tiered academic, behavioral, social and emotional interventions

  • Consultation and collaboration
