On September 15, 2003, author and illustrator of children’s books, Peter H. Reynolds released his book “The Dot.” In the story, Vashti felt like she couldn’t draw — but her art teacher wouldn’t accept that. “Just make a mark, and see where it takes you,” the teacher said to Vashti. So, she marked her parchment paper with a small dot. The next day, Vashti was surprised to find her paper with the dot on the classroom wall. Vashti was so proud of her work that she started creating drawings with different kinds of dots. (taken from nationaltoday.com)
Enjoy the work from Ms. Zucker’s art class to see what our Walker Bulldog artists created with just a dot. Great job, students!

Virtual Curriculum Night for each school is this week! Please see flyer for your school's day and time! 😊

We have numerous faculty and staff members that contribute to the success and well being of the school. To show our appreciation for all that they do, we will be having a Spotlight of the Week. Each week a different school will nominate a member for this spotlight and give a brief description of why they chose this individual.
This week’s Spotlight of the Week is Anita Kamieniak (school nurse). She was nominated by Graves Dual Language School! 😊🩺

As we reflect on the tragic event that occurred 20 years ago today, let’s also honor and remember all the first responders and civilians that lost their lives.
