GRAVES celebrating National STEAM DAY Friday, November 8th!

Ms. Balicki’s class at HMS has been exploring the effects of erosion! Discovery learning at its best.

HMS Student Council ran a Veteran's Day item drive and our students and community helped bring in over 650 items that will go to help our veterans!
We appreciate our veterans who served our country and who have given their lives for our democracy and our freedoms.

Ms. Kozal’s class at HMS worked on writing 6-word stories and displayed their work for the class. Very deep and powerful writing.

Walker students are all smiles on Friday afternoon.

After the HMS Veterans Day presentation students had the chance to sit in the vehicles on display, speak with the soldiers, and try on some of their gear.
The soldiers make it look easy!
Thank you to all of those who serve and have served our country.

Today Mrs. Galus worked with students on inferencing, Mrs. Gentile focused on adding and subtracting fractions, and Mr. Murphy supported students with math as well. Great work!

Members of the Army came to speak at HMS today in honor and support of Veteran’s Day. They spoke about their backgrounds and allowed students to ask questions. 🇺🇸

Walsh School is appreciating teachers and staff with many goodies this school year. This week they received blankets and a bag of school supplies, compliments of Enchanted Backpack. Enchanted Backpack has provided Walsh with school supplies, books and other materials. Thank you!

The Graves and HMS PE teams (Gamino, Koerner, Klotz, Fritsche) joined forces and had the 7th and 8th graders mentor the Kindergarten and 1st graders. There was movement, engagement, smiles, and leadership displayed.
A big thanks to our PE teachers!

Students in Mrs. Zipprich and Mrs. Foltz's science class are learning about the effects erosion has on the land while using a stream table simulation.

Ms. Hokkanen and the STEAM students created wind turbines intended to do more than just produce electricity.

Students in Ms. Cardenas' class created skull designs after learning about them in a book and movie. Students applied what they learned and decorated them with colored glue to memorialize their work.
