Congratulations to the 4th Grade Beginning Band on their first ever performance last night! They sounded fantastic!




This week, select 1st and 4th grade classes are partnering up to create model cars based on the graphic novel “Lowriders in Space”. This project was sponsored by the PACTT grant and taught by: Ms. Zylstra, Ms. Smith, Ms. Walker, Ms. Builta, Ms. Nelson, Ms. Hermosillo, Ms. Friare, and Ms. Gardner.

Mrs. Janousek and Mr. Murphy anchor a "DNA strand" as students expand their understanding of genetics. The slinky represents a strand of DNA, then students grab a gene and identify what trait they received from their parents.

The Kohl's Story Bus is at Walsh this morning! Kindergarten through 2nd graders will have the opportunity to hear "The Three Little Pigs" and explore activities on the bus!

Our school is very proud of Andrew from HMS for finishing in 1st place at the county Spelling Bee!! He will move on to the regional competition in a few weeks. We all wish him well in the next round!

Wharton conducted a soft lockdown this morning to keep students out of the hallways, while the building administration worked through a sensitive situation with a visitor. When it was determined all students were safe, the soft lockdown was lifted, and students resumed their day.
