🎢🚀 Today in Ms. Puhr's class, we went FULL ENGINEER MODE and designed roller coasters to test out gravitational potential energy 💥. Students in Mrs. Gomez’ 6th grade science class used edible materials to model Earth’s layers. The cookie represents the crust, the Oreo cream is the mantle, the chocolate syrup represents the outer core, and the Skittle represents the inner core. Of course they got to eat their masterpiece at the end!

This past Friday, students from the Heritage 7th and 8th grade Symphonic Band participated in the Argo High School Middle School Band Night. Students were able to play with the band for pregame, play the National Anthem before the game, cheer on the football team from the stands, and learn what being in band is like at the high school. The students did a great job and represented District 104 extremely well! Go Sailors and Go Argonauts! El viernes pasado, los estudiantes de la Banda Sinfónica de 7 y 8 grado de Heritage participaron en la Noche de Banda de la Escuela Secundaria Argo. Los estudiantes pudieron tocar con la banda antes del partido, tocar el Himno Nacional antes del partido, animar al equipo de fútbol desde las gradas y aprender cómo es estar en la banda en la escuela secundaria. ¡Los estudiantes hicieron un gran trabajo y representaron al Distrito 104 extremadamente bien! ¡Vamos Sailors y vamos Argonauts!

Walker School celebrated their students who followed directions for the month of September with a PBIS Rockstar Event! Students and staff participated in a "Selfie Challenge" as they traveled to different parts of the Bedford Park District, engaged in a short activity and took a Selfie! What a fun day! Great job students!

Students in Ms. Penrod's 5th grade class finished their Corn Unit with a culminating activity observing sweet corn. Cook County Farm Bureau supplied the class with Corn AG Magazines!

To keep our district families updated: The soft lockdown was lifted a few moments ago at Graves and HMS and dismissal will resume as normal. Graves and HMS are being placed on a soft lockdown due to police activity near the schools. This police activity does not involve the schools or our district. Pre-K dismissal may be delayed due to the soft lockdown as well as regular student dismissal. We will update as information is provided. This soft lockdown does not affect any of our other schools. Walker Family STEAM Night was a huge success. Students had opportunities to create, learn, evaluate, and build as the visited each station. Thank you to Vulcan Materials Company And The DuPage County Children Museum for their collaboration and support. Walker Family Pumpkin night will be held on October 29th. More details to follow.

The Cooking with Children Nutrition Series kicked off on September 18th, 2024. Families discussed food safety, did some measuring, and even checked their hands for germs with a blue light!
