Thank you to everyone who came out to the Cook County School District 104 Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new administrative building and secure entrances at Wharton and Walker School. Thank you to the village mayors, Senator Porfirio, Superintendent Toulios, trustees, and the District community who came out to the SD104 Groundbreaking Ceremony. As mentioned multiple times on Saturday our students are at the forefront of this project. These secure entrances will provide students with a secure and safe environment for learning and being children.
Join School District 104 TOMORROW, May 20th for the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Cook County School District 104 Administrative Building and the secure entrance additions for Wharton and Walker School. The ceremony will begin at 8:00 AM at the new Cook County School District 104 Administrative Building location, 7509 63rd St, Summit, IL 60501. The ceremony will then proceed to Wharton School, and end at Walker School. Light refreshments will be available at Walker School. Please see the attached invitation for details. Walsh students have been reading Charlotte’s Web. In this book, there is a pig named “Wilbur”. Today Walsh students had a special visit from “T-Rex” the Pig! We learned that he lives in their house and sleeps with his owners in bed!

Using the engineering design process, Ms. Smith's 2nd grade STEAM classes at Graves designed devices to protect an egg if it is dropped from a certain height. There were quite a few successful designs and many eggs did not break!!

1st grade class at Walsh saw 1 2 3 Andres perform at the Old Town School of Folk Music today!

Second graders at Graves Dual Language School took a field trip to the Kids Science Lab. This trip gave students an opportunity to experience and understand the science they see every day as they experimented with hands-on science activities.
Los alumnos de segundo grado de la Escuela de Lenguaje Dual de Graves hicieron una excursión al Laboratorio de Ciencias para Niños. Este viaje brindó a los estudiantes la oportunidad de experimentar y comprender la ciencia que ven todos los días mientras experimentaban con actividades científicas prácticas.
On Tuesday, Walsh 2nd graders took a field trip to Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum in Chicago. They had an amazing trip!
