8th graders from Ms. Hokkanen's STEAM classroom worked with Ms. Smith's STEAM 3rd graders to uncover some sweet fossils as they explored the world of paleontology today!
Congratulations to our very own Eva Manzke, Interventionist for 3rd and 4th grade at Walker Elementary, on receiving the Award of Special Recognition in the Teacher Category by the Illinois State Board of Education. Since 1970, the Illinois State Board of Education has sponsored the Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program to honor educators who have made significant contributions to Illinois schools. Eva will be honored with the award at a ceremony this Spring.

Each year the Wall of Fame Committee will choose up to 5 recipients for the School District 104 Wall of Fame.
Nominees must be a graduate of HMS, Graves Junior High, or School District 104 before 2015.

Friday was Mrs. Bello's, our beloved lunch lady, last day. Walsh students and staff made sure she knew how much she was loved here at Walsh by having every classroom lining the hallway and giving her a sendoff. Mrs. Bello, thank you for all you have done for the Walsh community for the last 19 years! You will be missed!
